Steam and Sunset

Trent Lock is an attractive spot nearby at the convergence of a number of canals, with barges and river birds to photograph.
However I seem to be drawn to industrial images. I think that the Tinsley Towers were a more attractive shape than these stubby ones.
Shot with K10D/18-55 as jpeg, then converted to mimic B&W with filter in Picasa.

The weekend after I bought my K10D, I photographed 18 planes in an hour (on a Sunday lunchtime) through my front bedroom window, but I was living very near to the incoming flight path for Manchester Airport.
Well I had to try out the camera on something!
