Lysander on take-off
Painted in the scheme of an aircraft from 161 Squadron , RAF. These aircraft operated from 1942-45 out of RAF Tempsford and RAF Tangmere on 'Special Duties' clandestine operations into and out of German occupied Europe.
This particular aircraft was delivered to RAF in 1942 before being transferred to the Royal Canadian Air Force in the same year where it was employed as a target tug...looking very different to how it looks now.

Pleased you enjoyed the photo.
On the port side of the aircraft there is a ladder attached to the fuselage to enable speedy access to rear cockpit...can just see the bottom of it in the image.
regards
Karlo
