Auster AOP.6

by 1stEverPentax

Built in 1946, these aircraft were used by the UK armed forces for aerial observation, artillery spotting, logistical and communications work...very short take off and landing performance for access to short strips and fields.

Photo taken at Old Warden, Bedfordshire recently.

During WW2, similar craft put in 1000's of hours of dogwork,m without the glory afforded fighters and bombers.
