Proud and Tall

by Carol8345

I've lived in New York for 15 years and still haven't gone out to see the statue. I really have no desire to climb the stairs to get up to it so I like to view it from afar. We found this cool little place in Red Hook, Brooklyn with a beach and a small pier. It so happens, the sun sets right behind the statue each night. If you could only imagine being the rookie that I am with a new camera, I was shooting this like there was never going to be another sunset, changing lenses like a mad woman. There was very little done to this, I think I just added a little clarity.

It was most certainly worth the effort. My hubby always laughs at me when I start juggling lenses like a mad woman Love it.

Very eyecatching...the almost black against the orange works well.

You really have an eye for a picture - and what a picture this one is!
I shall be there in November so I might even search for your beach
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Stunning, from one who has climbed the stairs, many moons ago when you could get up into the torch, This brought back happy memories. Thank-you
