Taken on a guided tour of the locomotive workshops of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway on May 12: Preserved ex LMS locomotive 'Eric Treacy' named after one of England's finest railway photographers the Rt Rev. Eric Treacy (1907-197 who documented the railway scene with his cameras, mainly in the North of England, from the 1930s until his death. His quality black and white images were widely published in magazines and the several books he published on the subject. He began his photographic hobby as a young curate at his parish in Liverpool, close to the Edge Hill locomotive depot and where many of the workers were members of his church. He career progressed through the C of E hierarchy until he became Bishop of Wakefield. He continued with his photographic career till his death..
