101 Barbirolli Square

by sandinista

For Giulio in colour. Named after the world famous conductor Sir John Barbirolli, Barbirolli Square has the Bridgewater Hall on one side and two office buildings, numbers 100 and 101, on the other. These buildings, clad in glass and pale grey granite, were designed by the RHWL Partnership, the same architectural practice that created the Bridgewater Hall.

Much as I like modern architecture in black and white to me this is far more effective in colour Jim. The blue of the sky reflected in the curved windows is excellent.

Yes that's a luscious blue isn't it? However I too would have gone straight to the conversion regardless!
I suppose the issue is the top of the building and the sky are both dark, if either they we're opposed it would make the conversion far more appealing and even continue the symmetry created by the floors/windows.

IMHO it's better in colours. Blue tones of glasses push eyes to sky: same blue. I prefer this version. Compo is perfect.

Giulio prefers one in color? I'm shocked!
I prefer it too!
