Thanks GIULIO57. I've only just joined and all comments are appreciated. The shot was actually taken at 1/2500 of a second exposure and the original looked very static. I added the motion blur in post processing. Blurring the background and rotor blades separately.

However you did it, panned or motion blur added later, it works. Its a very dramatic image.
