Dawn over the rooftops
by davidwozhere
Firstly, the dawn colours demanded a photograph. Secondly, I had just completed the transplant of a Schneider Kreuznach 105mm lens-shutter assembly from a knackered folding camera to M42 mount and the K1 that it had been mounted on was ready to use. The downside is that I was stuck with the view - the dark band at the bottom is the ridge line of intervening houses.
Schneider Radionars are stunning lenses. This one is from 1934, according to the known serial number sequences. A full sized RAW image shows songbirds perched on the tops of the most distant trees. Cut down to more 'sensible' sizes they hardly appear but please, take my word for it! The detail at about f8 is fantastic!
