An excellent ten quid even though it's making me seasick
Ha-ha, not sure why you feel seasick, sorry about that!
It was a good ten quid, in fact probably a bit less. Paid £32 for a Pentax MZ-50 film SLR that came with 2 Sigma lenses, DL 28-80mm macro (has a 1:2 macro mode would you believe it?) and this DL 100-300mm lens. Camera and both lenses are mint condition, sold the camera for £15, so the two lenses were £17 between them. The 28-80 is pretty darn good too and the macro mode is spectacular for a lens of this type. Won't compete with a dedicated macro lens or a prime on tubes, but for a walk-around lens it's fantastic.

i do like it , davidstorm and that was just my initial reaction to the image regardless of the lens. I might have mentioned before in another post having fished since childhood it is a very familiar sight to myself on rivers and streams. well composed and nicely taken ,the best 10 quid you ever spent
Thank you very much! I'll be keeping this lens and its 28-80 companion for now, they are great walk-around lenses being very light and portable.
Regards
David
