The Shard
Looking towards the pinnacle of The Shard from the viewing platform.
Tripods are not permiited at the viewing floors. This combined with the low light and freezing temperature meant difficulty in obtaining a shake-free exposure. Thankfully, the K5 and DA18-135 combination compensated for my cold, shivering hands.

Thank you all for your comments.
I do have plenty of 'Shard' images: it was a cold clear evening and views across the city, espcially East towards Canary Wharf, were excellent.
At a busy time I stood back from the crowd. Looking around me I saw a number of views of the structure which were highlighted by the building lights which were not apparent prior to sunset. The picture I have posted is the most pleasing of the bunch with no post processing apart from converting from RAW to JPEG. It is also one of the very few that I have not had to crop to improve composition and getting this more or less correct 'in camera' pleases me no end.

Nigel.
Getting older and grumpier. Taking longer to decide which lens to use today.
K5 with auto-everything lenses
A collection of manual primes to keep me in touch with the pleasures of doing it old-school.
