Val d'Orcia in a Nutshell

by GIULIO57

Do you remember “Golden Butterfly” uploaded last Sunday? This is a whole view of Val d’Orcia from Pienza-Tuscany-Italy where that “capture”lives inside... Camera on tripod PENTAX K20D and PENTAX Zoom Lens 55-300mm. Manual Exposure. Early in the morning because I like these lights as well as those of late afternoon. Val d’Orcia bears a special feeling in these moments. Brown tones of the land ready for winter, look like a nutshell around golden fields of harvested wheat …But like a nutshell includes a new harvest for next year. This is the reason of the title I’ve choosen. From Beginning to End “dyes” mark passing of time: here and elsewhere. PS.Pentax zoom 55-300 is Wonderful!

A lovely image Giulio. Even better viewed large. Is that lone tree from an earlier posting.

A stunning landscape, Giulio. I love the compression of perspective.
Best wishes,

Andrew

A lovely image Giulio, this puts your previous image into context. Also I must mention the 55-300 lens which is a great lens for isolating parts of a landscape. It is very sharp at 55mm and I find I use it a lot for this purpose.

I'm coming to Italy this year with Shaun Wilson and hope to be able to meet with you, if only for a short while.
