Bosham Sunset

This is a stacked and averaged merge of 16 shots in Affinity Photo to provide the impression of a longer exposure. The individual frames have been developed from RAW using an evaluation copy of Silkypix Developer Studio Pro 8. I am evaluating this software because it offers the best available support for PENTAX’s Pixel Shift Resolution. I was able to remove lateral chromatic aberration more effectively without a lens profile than I had been able to in DxO Optics Pro. Taken with my PENTAX K-1 using a Samyang 85mm f/1.4 prime with a circular polariser to improve colour saturation. Exposure for each of the 16 frames was between 2. 5s and 4.0s at f/16 with sensitivity at ISO 100.

Who knew the work that went into this lovely photo? Thanks for sharing both the process and the result, Dave. Like (of course).

Affinity Photo is available for £48.98 and essentially does all that Photoshop does (for most people) in a subscription free model. I bought a copy a while back to evaluate it. It has been nearly three months now since I have touched Light room or Photoshop. The really good news is that Serif, who make Affinity Photo, seem to have abandoned their highly irritating approach of sending endless sales emails. There is a 10 day evaluation copy available and there are adequate sources of tutorial videos to make the 10 days useful.
Capture: Pentax K-1, PENTAX HD PENTAX-D FA 24-70mm F2.8 ED SDM WR, PENTAX 100mm f/2.8 WR Macro, SAMYANG 14mm F2.8 ED AS IF UMC, SAMYANG 35mm F1.4 AS UMC, • SAMYANG 85mm F1.4 AS IF UMC
Processing: Adobe Bridge for organisation, DxO Optics Pro Elite for RAW development, ON1 Photo RAW for some 'stylising' and Affintiy Photo for more involved edits.
