Young Mule Deer

by AggieDad

One of the many species of deer in the U.S., the mule deer gets its name from its large size of its ears. This is a young deer - perhaps a yearling - looking right at me from only about 12 feet away.

Thanks for the nice comments.

It is seldom possible to get this close to a deer, so I felt lucky to grab this. Looking straight at me allowed for the shot to be (almost) perfectly symmetrical.

Great exposure, it jumps out from the background. Those flies must be torture.
