Synergy

At first I thought this pair of Jackdaws were (literally) 'nit-picking.
However, as I watched I became aware that they were actually 'grooming' the small deer by removing the winter's down to line their nest.
Just another example of the way nature coordinates things.

The sparrows used to raid my dozing collie in this way, oblivious to the yelps and leaping about. Lovely picture.

I did have to keep looking as the deer was so still that at first we were concerned it might be dead - but then we saw it move, so OK !
