Sint Servaasbrug (v.2)

by pauljay

Came across this shot this evening which I first posted 5 years ago in tone-mapped format however, I don't do tone-mapped these days so I went back and re-worked it as a 'fusion' HDR in Photomatix, which tends to look a lot more realistic. The bridge is on the site of the oldest crossing of the River Maas connecting the two halves of the city of Maastricht. The twilight period of the day was quite a bit darker than the photo suggests but I feel that the end product is pleasing.
K-5/Tamron 28-300mm.

I like it - especially the lovely clarity about the entire scene
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

HDR or merging bracketed exposures works great provided it isn't over-saturated with and highlights overblown. Yours is a perfect example.
