Re-worked
by davidstorm
This is an image that has had a lot of views in its original form, but I always knew the processing on the first one was poor. I think my skills have improved a bit, so I have re-worked it.
I would be interested to know what everyone thinks as I'm considering sending this one to Countryfile for this year's calendar competition.

It's nice, David, but all the countryfile calendar shots I've seen are landscape format, not portrait, and I doubt it would succeed.
This space deliberately left blank.

Lovely image, but tend to agree that it has too much red/magenta, certainly first impression is one of a colour cast robbing some 'life' from it.

Thanks for the observations Richard and Neville, the colour cast is an increase to reds; there is no magenta in the image to speak of. I also have a fully processed version of the same image without the boost to reds which I have shown to several people side by side with the one above, on a high quality print. Funny thing is, everyone preferred the one with the boosted reds which is why I've posted that one here!!
Never thought of that Neil, it's a very valid point. They didn't mention this on the TV show, but I can see it might be a problem.

David
