Hints of Colour
by davidstorm
Not a 'colour pop', but an image with hints of colour to highlight the beautiful Cathedral in Pisa, Italy. Please use the Large View.

Yes David, I agree with all the above - certainly an interesting treatment with the clarity of B&W with that hint of colour.
I found I could get a similar effect when processing RAW files in PSE11 by sliding the 'Vibrance' control to the left.
Did you do something similar (or what ?)
Also, did you adopt the 'prone rifle shooting' position again for this one !!!
Best regards
Peter

Hi Peter, it was a little bit more complex on this one! It is a blend of a BW and colour image in the first instance, then after blending it was de-saturated and some other tweaks applied to highlight the detail in the stones and also in the cathedral. As for the shooting position - yes you got it in one! I'm getting quite famous for doing this!Yes David, I agree with all the above - certainly an interesting treatment with the clarity of B&W with that hint of colour.

Super. I just love the low angle and the beautiful detail right through from the immediate foreground to the cathedral.
