SF-7 + outdated 'MX200' film in Reading Berkshire

by Peter Elgar

Keep getting GIVEN a cassette of outdated Film every week now by a new Camera Club member for me to try ! Latest one was a 12/2006 dated 'MX 200 ' actually KONICA made for the 'Max Speilman Processing Labs' I stuck some paper over the DX Contacts to make camera default to 100ASA -- Blasted SF-7 does not have any 'Over-Ride' of DX OR any Exposure Compensation. I used a SMC Pentax-F 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 kindly given by a Forum member. I tried 'Program + Flash', 'AV' and TV' and Manual 'GUESSED' exposure modes. I processed the film in some C41 mini-Lab Developer given to me when Brentwood BOOTS Photo-Lab closed down.

Alchemists and magicians disappeared in the 17thC ! Nice to know that you are keeping the spell books dusted off.
More seriously, it did rather well didn't it.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Great result with good colours. You've inspired me to dust off the K1000. Still have a roll of Fuji film from 2010 so based on your results will give it a try.

Great work, Peter. The effort was well rewarded.
I don't know when you were there but when we walked down Broad St on Thursday there was no sign of the bus ?
Must be a 'magical' one that only comes out at night !

Best regards
Peter
