Hovering blackbird

One of our blackbirds has learned to hover, like a humming bird, for a few seconds, to snatch a sunflower seed from our bird-feeder. This is a composite image of three, cropped from a sequence taken in rapid succession:

These are difficult to catch, so well done. I too have a pair of blackbirds that have learned to do exactly the same trick, but with a feeder hanging on 2 feet of string!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
