Stormy Sky over St Paul de Vence

by davidstorm

St. Paul de Vence is a Medieval hill-top town in Southern France, not far from Nice and Monaco. On this particular day we had stormy skies in the Morning and hot sun in the afternoon, this one was taken when the storm clouds were still around.

This picture brought me back of more than 40 years. Summer 1975...long holidays there before going to university.....Last long holidays of ever!!! S. P. de Vence where lived Picasso, Chagall, Montand and so on...That year I spent beautiful weeks there, Nice, Monaco, Vence, S. Raphael, Marseille. I had a Kodak instamatic with me and I took about 400 pictures(still in good health). That journey suggested me to buy a serious and more reliable camera: I bought my first PENTAX: ME Super with 50mm, 28mm and 135mm

Hi Giulio

I'm very happy that this picture brought back some memories of your younger days. We only spent 1 day in St. Paul de Vence, but were taken by its beauty, both the location it sits within and the lovely Medieval Town itself. It seems your experience there may have started you on your Pentax journey!

Best wishes
