Why is there a lemon ripening on our lemon tree in the middle of January?

Well, believe it or not it's one of last year's. It sat there, green and miserable for 12 months and now it has bucked up (and destined for a G&T - or two).
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
