Dolomites - Mountain Top View

by MikeInDevon

Another Dolomite view, ME Super with 28mm or 35mm f3.5 SMC K lens (can't remember which), Kodak Colour Plus 200ASA. Cropped to 16:9 ratio and very slight levels adjust using GIMP.

Best viewed large.

Cracking shot Mike.

Full marks as well for knocking them out on film...they were the days!

Thanks Karlo.

My son's really getting into film and he gave me a voucher for Analogue Wonderland for Father's Day. So I got a couple of films to take on holiday. The ME Super is so much lighter than my K1 so is kinder to my painful neck.

Lovely shot Mike, on film too.
What was the process to digital assuming by Ana Wonderland, when I had mine digitized by a local shop there were different GByte choices/prices. I found the lower price was a bit grainy, but then it was a test shoot/film for a recently acquired vintage MX.

Thanks, it's been years years since I last used film, I'm pleased with the results so I shall be using film again some of the time (B&W and Colour).

As far as the AW processing (C-41) choice, as this was the first time I've used AW I went all in and paid the extra to have the scans done as 'Premium TIFF Scans' with the Editing Package 'Professional' which cost £20.50 per film. The scans were 5444 x 3648 pixels each TIFF being between 50-60 MB. Looking at these full scans it's apparent that even this didn't capture the full resolution of the film, but it's still very nice.

When I get the negatives back I shall compare what AW can do with what I can do at home, using both my K-1 + marco lens and slide copier attachment, and an old Nikon scanner I have which is very slow but very good. I can't use the Nikon scanner with a modern laptop or PC, it uses a FireWire interface not USB and the software meant to runs on Windows XP (or a Mac, which I don't have), so I use an ancient desktop or even older laptop I still have kept just for this.

Regards
Mike
