Thank you everyone for the positive feedback, been a while since I posted anything on the forums as have been tackling the technical issues of CCD camera imaging so a night out under the stars & aurora was a pleasant experience with my trusty K5 and smc PENTAX-DA 12-24mm F4 ED AL [IF] lens.
My only wish is that I had perhaps started this panorama at slightly shorter fl to include more ground but I had already shot the first frames when the sky erupted and thought oh well there will be another outburst soon ...but this was the only time it looked like this throughout the evening ...hindsight is a wonderful thing as they say!
I have another couple of images I will post soon which might be useful to reference for anyone else shooting same setup ...though every aurora is different and likes to challenge the photographer!
