I think this is lovely, but the white shape in the background detracts from the overall effect. Maybe a wider view so the white object could be seen in context would work, but as it is my eye is drawn to it and I can't work out what it is.

Agreed, look at your scene, not just your subject

I was going to say that but... such a good shot with dramatic lighting that I'd clone out the background to leave plain white. The effort would be well worth it.
