"Now where did that road go ?"
by PeterKR
The view of Eastern descent from the top of the Hardknott Pass in the Lake District.
This is the EASY bit !
The ascent from the West is single track with blind hairpin bends and 30% gradients ! Great fun with a manual gearbox !

I rode it from east to west! One of many occasions when I really should have died, going between a parked tipper and a car going east, giving me a gap of 3 feet and me still doing about 30 miles per hour. On the day we did it it was raining and the cloud was on the tops. Nice to see what it actually looks like.

Like the roads up back from my village. They look simple enough to transverse until you're on them. This is a ''very fine view' photograph that allows you to wonder what it will be like to arrive at it's inclusions. Especially that woodland.
"The Latent Image that exists before development is a truly mystical and exciting entity and some subsequent individual photographs can make the spine tingle."

This used to be the last leg of the Four Passes walk starting and finishing at the YHA in Borrowdale, about 18 miles plus 4500 feet total ascent. bit of a trek!
Good take of it.
