Woodthorpe Windcutter

by pgweber

Pictured at Woodthorpe Bridge on the Great Central Railway, here is Ex LNER No. 63601 on a demonstration freight during the 2008 Autumn steam gala.

The rake of mineral wagons are of a type used on that line when it was part of the national rail network and which formed a freight train known as a "windcutter".

Shot as PEF with K10D & 50-200.

The next Autumn Gala is during the weekend 8-10th October and here's hoping the weather is as good as 2008.
