Bridgewater canal basin (Worsley Delph?) from Worsley Bridge
It was a sample photograph of this scene, in an ePhotozine review by John Riley of the Pentax HD D FA 24-70 mm lens, that helped persuade me to buy the lens. I have often passed this place by over the years, often intending to return and to photograph the half-timbered buildings by the brown canal. Now that I have the lens I decided to see what I could do with it with the review photo to use as a benchmark. Today, when I went, I somehow took a wrong turning and ended at Bridgewater Marina - almost 3 Km away. Having got so far however I walked back along the towpath and found it easily. It was worth it.

Thank you for your comment. The colour of the water has to do with the industry that required the canal.

Thanks for your comment. It's amazing how many photos seem to require getting up early, staying out late or humping lots of gear for miles on hot days.

That lens is excellent - John's review also helped to sway me!

Thank you Pauljay. I always read the ePhotozine reviews first when I am thinking about/ wishing I had another lens or camera.
