The icy chrismas angel

by AxelLuther

Totally different style today - BW, color key, high key, no HDR and it is a portrait!!!!!
I sometimes do portraits but I do not share too many in the web (most people I shot simply don't want that )
I will show you some samples I took from my best friends daughter (was my birthday present for her - a one day calender shooting - target wasw, to get 12-13 totally different shots from her. This is one of the most extreme ones (no - this is nit her natural eye color ) - I thought I started with this one, because it somehow fits a bit to how it looks like outside at my place at the moment.
The topic of this photo was a kind of glamour style, cool, icy but still nice - a bit like the typical parfum advert photos.

Awesome as a portrait, and as a technical achievement.

Great! Love the gentle tint to the eyes and the oh so gentle edge fade. Beautiful.

Lovely looking girl, Axel, and you've exploited her natural assets. Unusual to see a portrait from you. High key, as well. Very nice. However, I'm not mad on the colour popped eyes. What might work better is a opartially desaturated shot wit very pale hues.

Merry Christmas.

Andrew

Hi Andrew - fully understand your point - in the calender there was also a similar version with desaturated eyes - this one was kind of inbfluenced by the current weather - but I very much like your idea of trying this shot in an almost but not compeletely desaturated style.BW
