Abandoned Cottage

by iangilmour

Whenever I go walking on the moors I'm always on the lookout for ruined cottages. This one was is in Calderdale, miles from anywhere and I often wonder how the occupants managed to exist in these bleak surroundings.

Very much my sort of shot, Ian. Very nicely done.
Best wishes,

A lovely composition, through the gate, up the path to a bygone homestead. A very satisfying image in all.

Well done, Bob

Starkly sombre; very effective image. My personal preference would have been to lighten all the land, not the sky, just a little bit. But I like it.

A wonderful image Ian, right up my street so to speak, although there aren't any streets near this cottage!

Many thanks Andrew, Guilio, Bob, Stan, Andy, Martin and David. The trouble is with these type of shots is that they are often 'off the beaten track', as it were, and often find myself bogged down in mud.
Best wishes
