A66 Trans Pennine
by davidtrout
England's Route 66 - the A66 road from the North East to Cumbria, often closed in winter.
Here mists roll down the Pennines into the Eden Valley as cars head east through the failing light of a January late afternoon.

This is a landscape of the very highest quality, the lead in and layering in the composition leads the eye from bottom to top through all the interesting elements, brilliant

A really lovely photo. The bluish haze adds to the cold feel of the image.

Starting from the road the eye follows the zigzag of the mist up to the snowy hilltop, then one discovers the village down below. What a compo, clarity and sharpness! Deserves highest praise, David!

Fabulously bleak, almost monochrome shot. Very atmospheric.

That mist adds such an interesting element to the picture. The hard hillside and the soft haze are a beautiful contrast.
Best wishes,

A wonderful layer cake! A great journey through this landscape and a great juxtaposition of mankind versus nature.
