Great piccy!!
As an anecdote....
I was working at Cadwell Park, and I was at the mointain. Where I saw probably the best over take I ever saw at all the race tracks I had worked. Seen some epic smashes to!!
It was Josh Brookes.... he was just behind Tommy Hill. They came over the mountain, and both did the ubiquitous jump, but for some reason I decided to watch instead of photograph it. This is when I witnessed the best move ever. Josh Brookes used his body weight to stick the back wheel of his bike on the tarmac, then proceeded to overtake Tommy Hill on his back wheel!! Tommy hill did a massive jump, and Josh Brookes knew he'd slow down while airborne. He was switched on enough to pull off that move!
Still can't decide whether I should've photographed it or not...

Thanks for that insight Spad...very interesting.
To be honest I just take piccies of the bikes and then go online and see who was on it!
I'm getting into the whole Racing Bike thing more than ever before but don't really have a background in biking or such so its a bit of a learning curve. I am though getting better at identifying the actual make of a bike! One of my sons who has had a couple of bikes has been a good source of info on occasion.
Hope to visit Cadwell Park sometime. Drove past there a few months ago whilst on holiday...had hoped to drive in and see what was happening on the circuit as we were in the area...unfortunately there was a big Honda meet on and they wouldn't let us in (presumably without paying)...but as it was mid afternoon on a friday wasn't worth it for just an hour or two.
Will continue to weave in the odd biking pic going forward...
Cheers all

Karlo,
If I may make a suggestion???
Don't crop in so tight. If you had more back ground in, especially showing the armcove/tirewall. With it being blurred it will give it more of an impression of speed and movement.
I to mostly preferred bike racing, the only exception being touring cars and truck racing. Everything else is just a procession. F1 being the worst and most boring culprit!
If you ever want to go to some epic bike racing. Go to the Ulster GP, if its still on and/or the Northwest 200! Screw the TT, that's time trial, but the other two are actual road racing!

Cheers for your feedback Spad.
Re. the tight crop...appreciate what you are telling me.
I took absolutely loads of pictures that day...all with my Pentax DA200! It does crop well with the K-3 although I will probably end up getting the DA* 300 before long as well as there are some shots I want to take that I can't do justice with the 200.
I'm editing them in so many different styles and from four or five different main positions on the track and two or three sub-positions within each main...just for the variety so my shots don't end up all looking the same.
What I did like about the BSB Practice Day was that the advertising boards were out in force along sections of the tyre walls which adds another visually attractive background element...the Pirelli boards being particularly so (red lettering on bright yellow!).
I agree totally with your comments about much motorsport (especially F1) being a procession...ironic really given the huge wealth that goes into F1 and it being considered the 'apex' of the whole motorsport triangle. Touring Cars and Rallying I find much more exciting and offer more potentially satisfying photo opportunities.
Anyway...ta for taking the time...your advice is very welcome.

Karlo...
I would not say F1 is the apex of motorsport. For me it is rally.... the skill the top flight drivers possess is way beyond anything the drivers of F1 have.

I agree Spad, but going by the money and prestige associated with F1...ridiculous amounts really...the Big Companies that rule the world would disagree.
