Great title. I'm thinking 'Robin Hood' from these words. I think of them merry making beyond-yonder trees. The photograph? Just a joyful experience that matches it's title. The skill and achievement of the photographer goes without saying.
Many Thanks indeed for your munificent comments Gray Great title. I'm thinking 'Robin Hood' from these words. I think of them merry making beyond-yonder trees. The photograph? Just a joyful experience that matches it's title. The skill and achievement of the photographer goes without saying.
I had made a composition very near that spot in the autumn, but something about this visit and subtle changes in positioning made feel much more happy with this version.
I had gone up there with a mate who is new to landscape photography to demonstrate some ideas for him to explore further (about visual flow, visual mass, colour temperatures, polarizers, long exposures...) and at the last minute decided to get my camera out of the bag too.. rather glad I did now!

Richard Jefferies' 'The Story of my heart' is a fine read, a short story from many years ago by a man who's soul was connected to nature for sure.. very moving writing

That's great composition... Delightful curvy stream, with the foreground (and the various sizes and shapes of boulders) providing the specific context through which it runs... Seems to me you've got the shutter speed down to a fine art too... Really nice...

Thank you very for your considered and very encouraging comments Bill I have a great fondness for this bit of river and its ancient ambience
