Many thanks for the comments, Andy & Malc.

I took this as a test shot after I was given some tips on flower photography - the 'Pro' said it was important to use a narrow aperture (e.g. f/16) to ensure good DoF in close-up. So that's what I did (using Av mode) and I was amazed when I reviewed the 'Actual Pixels' view in PSE11 and found it still very sharp, even though the K-r had chosen ISO 800 due to the poor light.
I must add that I am very pleased with the performance of my DA18-135 - don't believe some of the initial reviews !

Thanks again
Peter

It's a lovely sharp picture as you would expect from f16 but you can still experiment, even wide open which gives a lovely soft outer and background but still a very sharp centre, no noise either! it's a Cornflower by the way.

Many thanks, Maria.
I'll certainly keep on experimenting even if I get the occasional 'duffer'. However, as they say, 'The man that never made a mistake, never made anything !'

Thanks again
