Climbing to Ais Gill
by davidtrout
Class 5 'The Lancashire Fusilier' has less than a mile to go to the summit at Ais Gill in The Pennines as it hammers up the incline with the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express last weekend.

A very evocative view in monochrome, David.
Is that from the bridge that crosses the line to the north of the summit?
I might have known it was yours if you had been at the north end of Kirby Stephen station. Have you tried the Birkett Common viewpoint off Tommy Road yet?

Yes that's the bridge I shot this from Peter. Despite your helpful directions I haven't yet been to Birkett Common Peter but one day I will.
