A 'Western' in the North East

The 28XX Class engine is hammering up the incline out of Grosmont with a tourist passenger train late on a November afternoon in 2014.

I love these Great Western 2-8-0s, David. This is a fine study which shows its power. Pity we can't here that two cylinder exhaust note.
I could hear it well Andrew, loud, sharp and clear, typical of Great Western perfect valve design.

What a magnificent shot! Difficult to detect just how close to the track you were!
Paul, because I was using the 200mm lens I was further back than it appears. Also it looks as if I was standing near the middle of the tracks , in fact I was well to the right of the picture on the outside of the curve.
