I am currently scanning slides shot back in the eighties, a few of which are interesting enough to post. Can't remember too much about the subject depicted here but it was shot in the 'ghost town' of Calico, California, a former silver mining community, on October 18, 1989.
The camera was an SFX fitted with a Pentax F 35-70mm and loaded with Ektachrome 100.

Hope you'll share more of your convo. slides.--There are quite a few of the Ghost Towns throughout Ca. Ive been to many and have also forgotten most. Now the cemeteries, thats a bit different - There are a few tourist shops in Calico and who doesn't wish for k'chome. ektachrome, etc. to record subjects - t

Everybody mourns Ektachrome. Why was it discontinued?
This is as good an advert for it as any - plain, clean, bright, captivating colour (or color, if you must).

Thanks for the feedback people, and thanks for the info Tony. David, most of my photography at that time was aviation oriented where the standard was KR64 so why I used Ektachrome on this occasion I have no idea. However, both lines are mourned, I'm sure.

Somehow missed this - a lovely clean, crisp image. Scanning has kept the detail well
