Brighton Lights

It may look like multiple strikes but (incredibly) it's just the one .

And there's you, standing there holding a lump of metal on a tripod! And well worth it too.

Breath taking beauty and drama. Is that why it was destroyed by fire?

Excellent Adrian - I nearly wandered down there myself; looks like I should have made the effort!

POTMonth? Electrifying. The border that you added is totally "right" for this marvellous image. Like.

A truly remarkable picture showing very clearly that lightning goes up and not down. (unless I wasn't paying attention in my Physics classes all those years back)
The apparent 'balls' of light at various points along the lightning tracks are very interesting. Definitely POTM!

Thanks all. Just luck really as you don't know what you're going to get, or whether you will get out of there alive. Not my favourite photo of the night but the most impressive lightning strike.

Now that is one hell of a good image! We've had no lightning up this way, I can't remember the last decent thunderstorm we had.

!00% full marks for this one, superb in every way.
