Approaching the swing bridge
by PeterKR
Once the craft is through the swing bridge and the crew have closed it they then have to run on about 200m to open the lock which is just out of view around a sharp bend.
The green lawn seen just under the bridge is the garden of a popular pub and the patrons get great pleasure from seeing novice narrow boaters make a right mess of negotiating the bridge, the sharp bend and the narrow lock entrance.
All good free entertainment !

Yes this is a lovely spot (and the pub food's not bad either!)
Thanks again
Peter
