The last northern lights of February 2019 in Kainuu
I was lucky to notice an aurora alert from the Meteorological Institute of Finland via my email in Thursday evening. The intensity did not look specially high either in numbers or in bars that describe the levels of regional opportunities to see auroras, but going out with camera gear proved something else. This picture is one of 45 exposures I did within about an hour. There were many kinds of patterns of auroras and the speed of their movements varied a lot, which caused some guessing with exposure times: it's
easier to catch rapid vertical movements than horizontal ones.

This one sings. Land mass at bottom provides a sort of scale. Like.
