'Baby's Breeches'

by PeterKR

He have had some 'Bears Breeches' (Acanthus) plant for a long time but they have not bloomed in recent years.
Last Autumn I saw some fully matured seedpods on some Acanthus plants in an ornamental garden.
I brought home one pod, opened it to find just 3 seeds which I put in a paper bag in the fridge till March.
I potted each seed individually but only one germinated, late May.
This is it now - being carefully nurtured !

Good luck - only having one is always a worry! Keep the slug pellets handy
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Bet you're proud of that one! I seem to have the touch of death when it comes to encouraging plants to grow although my second planting of strawberries seem to be taking nicely!
