What an unusual shot

Very well lit and great detail, love to know what it is behind the statue.

I'm becoming a fan of your work

Thanks for your kind comment.

This is the 'Shot At Dawn' monument at the Armed Services Memorial at Alrewas, near Burton-On Trent.
This monument commemorates all of the soldiers who were shot at dawn for cowardice during the first world war.
There is a 9ft tall statue, with a post behind for each solder who was shot, with a tag containing their name.

To get the raised viewpoint I put the camera on a monopod and tilted it down, then I put it on 12 second self-timer and raised it in the air.

I hope it conveys the emotion I felt when visiting the monument.
