Roche Abbey IR

Nestled within a deep glacial valley lined with Magnesium Limestone Crags formed in the last ice age, lie the ruins of Roche Abbey, beside the babbling Maltby Beck. Founded in 1147 and completed by the end of the 12th Century, this Cistercian Monastery must have looked spectacular in its heyday. Dissolved in 1538 on the orders of King Henry VIII, only the North and South Transepts now stand proud among the ruins of this once fine Abbey.
Shot on a beautiful Winter Day with the Pentax K-x and DA L 18-55mm, fitted with a Hoya Infra-Red Filter and exposed for 92 seconds. Converted to BW and a subtle bluish tinge applied to add to the atmosphere.

I am not a fan of B&W but your image doe's catch the eye with its moody atmosphere. Well done
