Photo Information
I had such a great moment shooting this huge Elk......I was using my 70-300mm lens, and I swear he looked right into my lens...here is the look!

How lucky were you, shame you didn't get the full antlers, I'd still hang it on the wall though

Fabulous. Do you happen to remember roughly how far from the elk you were? I am trying to decide which long lens to buy.

I was using my 300 sigma.... this elk was crossing the road, so I pulled over, got out...but being careful because they can charge...so I kept a safe distance, of at least 50 yards and my car very close by! LOL . I find my 300 more then enough with wildlife. You can hand hold a 300mmm and get a sharp photo.... bigger you need to be rethink it being hand held and use a tripod for the sharpness.

I hope this helps you.
