Church Tower at Welford Park
by BAJ
I love clouds but in this case the sky tones have ended up too close to the subject's tones meaning the imposing subject doesn't stand out as well as it might. It would be interesting to see a B&W conversion without the red filter. Better still it would be interesting to see the subject against a blue sky using a red filter conversion so the building would jump out from the dark sky.

Thanks for the comments, I shall have a try with various filters recommended. I only have Aperture so I not sure if I can convert to B&W but hold the blue sky.

I'm sorry, I've confused you. I didn't mean you should retain the blue sky, what I meant is that a blue sky when shooting would have been better - probably wasn't going to happen the day you took the photo though. (Of course you could try cloning one in!) A blue sky with the red filter applied in the B&W conversion would have produced a dark sky, a good contrast to the building.
