The day after their mother was killed by the Sparrowhawk...3 young in the nest. We fed them some worms and grated apple
to try and keep them alive. We went back to the nest later to find one missing. Whilst I was digging nearby to get some more worms my son managed to disrupt a Sparrowhawk silently gliding in towards the nest for another meal. That explained the disappearance of the other one.
