Clouds hanging over Montalcino

Photo Information
It was raining when I looked at this landscape. Weak sun light passed through clouds drawing strange “coloured dots” onto the ground. “Sometimes difficult conditions of weather or light give special photo-chances” I thought. In this area there are a lot of lonely country-houses atop hills. They mark this land. PENTAX LX on tripod and PENTAX Zoom lens 40-80 mm on 40 mm. Kodak Slide chrome 100 ISO set at 125. Epson scanner Perfection 3200.Manual Exposure. Mirror blocked-up.Date: Oct. 2th, 2012. f 8-Shutter Speed: 1/125sec.PS.This area is well known as “Crete Senesi” due to colour and compo of soil. Strange scratches on the ground are known as “calanchi”always pointing to the “north”. By the way: on the far left of skyline lives Montalcino “The Kingdome of Brunello wine”. Between Sky and Earth….where still lives a part of our Family (the oldest in Montalcino and well known as Brunello-producers) and where were born my grand-grand pa and his 9 sons..among these my grandfather. A sad story behind this family branch till now completely unknown(a strange suicide of my grand-grandpa but I'm sure a murder)…..All happened at the end of 1800. Now you know because I like this land.

How did i miss this? sorry for the late comment, it's a beautiful image with lovely tones, just like an oil painting. Thank you for the story accompanying, i bet we all have skeletons in our family history
Kind regards Maria

My mother, aged 88, told me that the skeletons would certainly come creeping out of the closet when I started to research her side of the family! They did, and involved professional football but that's a story for another time, and forum! Nice result from your LX Giulio! Haven't the results from mine yet but hopefully within a few weeks .....!
