A For Effort (C- for execution)

Ex LNER No. 60009 accelerates through Llanfairfechan, with the return trip from Holyhead, a few Sundays ago.
I was shooting too much towards the sun, so some gratuitous p/p in PSE10 was used to try and put a bit of colour back. It was a good location in lunchtime sun the next day, but no steamers were passing.
I remember an old English punctuation book attempting to explain one of the uses of the colon: "She was in love with LLanfairfechan: he couldn't even spell it." (
Actually that sentence illustrates two uses of the colon. The things one can learn from this forum!)
Andrew
"These places mean something and it's the job of a photographer to figure-out what the hell it is."
Robert Adams
"The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE."

As Andrew says: its a magnificent location. There's another colon for you.

The colours do look different on my desktop at work (shhh, don't tell the boss), the greens are strong but there is a purple tinge elsewhere too.
Colourwise the original was very flat but I clearly overdid the Saturation in PSE10.
I think Llanfairfechan station is just beyond the houses and the photo location was on the sea-end of a footbridge over the A55 express-way, which was just out of shot to the left.

To get the picture looking more vibrant try opening it in camera raw and clicking on one of the white running lights with the white balance tool. This will make the engine green and the sky blue.
The picture has the potential to be something special.
