Smashing look back it time Trixie, i remember my older sisters listening to radio Caroline on a little transistor in the 60's, they used to put it next to and electricity plug to get a better reception ha ha.
We used to listen to it under the bed clothes at night, I loved radio caroline, it really was a nostalgic trip out.

Naah, not me; I'm Too Young,,,

Of course you are Larry you wont remember any of these items on display!!!!

Best regards - S.
My father use to have the similar radio like that one on the left. I think it was French made... He had a speech impediment, was unable to pronounce the "R".

Best regards - S.
Hello thank you for your lovely comments, I have more photos that I took on the day out, all from the 1950s, I think every home had one of these radios, we used to warm the batteries up in the oven...... wonder we never blew ourselves up!!!

Did you listen to Caroline North or South? I used to listen to Johnnie Walker every evening on South. Still one of my favourite broadcasters.
