Cannizaro Park Wimbledon, Lower Garden

by McGregNi

Thanks again to all those who gave advice on this series of shots in the 'Your Photos' forum recently. I have redone the images taking into account the feedback, but retaining those aspects I valued from the scenes.

A special place this, on a quiet morning a very hidden gem.

K7 with 14mm Samyang f2.8, shot at f8.0.

I think this is stunning - like a watercolour. Lovely gentle colouring and indeed a wonderful spot.

I wish you all had been out in force on the Your Photos thread - it would have been nice to have had some counterbalance to the opposing views! I took on board all the advice offered, and these Gallery uploads are toned down in the colours, and there are slightly deeper blacks too.

I wanted to capture the very special, intense light, almost like a heat haze that was present at the time. The HDR technique was the only way I could get the full DR out of the frames I had - I found that any single exposure was dull and muddy. But the majority view on the forum was that the HDR was 'overcooked'.
