This is a close-up of The Money Tree on the Ingleton Waterfall Trail.
For several decades people have been pushing coins into the bark of a fallen tree, supposedly to bring luck, as per the Trevi Fountain in Rome.
These ate mostly 2p and 10p coins but there are some old ones hidden amongst them.

Very interesting subject and nicely produced, Not a coin would be left after a visit by scrap metal thieves in USA,, pity. tg
